Choosing your planner
A5 or B6?
I get asked this more than anything else, so here is the honest answer. Inside, they are the same planner: the same Tomoe River paper, the same lay-flat stitching, the same layouts. You are really choosing how much page you want, and how light you want your bag.
B6 resting on A5. We photographed them together because a size chart never quite shows it.
A5 more room to write
148 × 210 mm, about 5.8 × 8.3 in
This is the one I reach for when I know I will write a lot. The wider weekly columns mean my handwriting never has to shrink, and the daily page feels generous. It is also the size most of our customers choose.

B6 a little smaller
128 × 182 mm, about 5.0 × 7.2 in
A little smaller and lighter, so it disappears into a bag, and you still get a full page for every day. If you have ever left a planner at home because it felt too bulky to bring, this is the size that fixes that.

How thick is it
A whole year, about a paperback thick
People are always surprised by this. A full year of pages, and it is still about as thick as a paperback, because Tomoe River paper is so thin. The weekly horizontal is the slimmest of the three. Both lie completely flat when open, which matters more than you would think once you are writing on the right-hand page.

Three ways to plan your week

Daily
A full page for every day, with a weekly overview before each week. If you like to write things out, keep long lists, or journal a little at night, this is yours.
In A5 and B6

Weekly horizontal
The whole week across two pages, a row for each day, and room for notes. The slimmest of the three, and the easiest one to keep up with on a busy week.
In A5 and B6

Weekly vertical
A column for each day with the hours down the side. If your days are appointments and time blocks, you will love seeing the week laid out like this.
In A5 only
Colours
Four colours for 2027, two for undated
- 2027 datedBlack, Brown, Red, Dark Green
- UndatedBlack, Red
Soft vegan leather with a small gold stamp, and the same colours in both sizes, so pick the size first and the colour second. Black and Dark Green are the quiet ones. Red and Brown get noticed.
2027 dated
January to December 2027, printed in, so you can open to today and start writing. On pre-order now and shipping in November, in time for January 1.
Undated
You write the dates, so you can start on any week of any month. In stock and shipping now. Same paper, same binding, same layouts as the dated planners.
Quick answers
Do tip-ins fit both sizes?
Yes, every tip-in comes in both sizes. Goals, Habit tracker, Budget, Travel and Grid all slide into whichever planner you choose, and you can swap them in and out through the year.
Which clear cover do I need?
Match the planner: the A5 clear cover for an A5, the B6 clear cover for a B6. Each comes in a daily and a weekly thickness, so pick the one named after your layout and it will hug the planner properly.
What is the paper like?
Tomoe River paper, the thin Japanese paper fountain pen people ask for by name. Ink sits on top, dries with a soft sheen and does not bleed through, which is the only reason a full year of pages can stay this slim. See the pens we recommend.
Still torn between the two?
Here is what I tell friends. Picture the planner open on the table where you will actually use it most. If you see yourself filling the page, go A5. If you see it coming out of your bag, go B6. You cannot really get this wrong; it is the same planner inside.
